03You just can't keep away from the hot you're online looking looking on the website. What happened tonight? No, just not that you mentioned it. I was just looking at the You don't think about hockey's much as you actually have my job in Montreal is actually I'm a commentator. Oh, yeah And it's so and now I'm not I'm with the green party and working with the campaign I'm kind of aside from that job a bit But so left to keep in mind what's going on. So when I come back I could talk about it Yeah, right. You got to keep up with it. So what what is what is going on? Why are you here? What is what is this? Well, we're In sense relation campaign where we're we're campaigning around a lot of our writings to talk about the green party And I was about going around and talking about a message and it's part people to vote green and try to make a difference and Get more green the more green will get in Canada the better situation will be I
51Couldn't agree more what brought you to the party Well, you know Elizabeth approached me like a year ago to be a debut leader. So with her I'm helping her You know some of the strong writings that we have and maybe going some of the plays that she can always go because she has to focus In her own writing go found them because she's she'll she will be our next MP and and if she's all over the place She can't really focus on the writing So it's really important so and also I will go down there to try to help her because we really need to sell the fire spot To be our next MP because this will finally give us our first seat and then her voice is such a strong voice that it'll make such a Big difference in the Parliament. Are you gonna run or is that what are you doing in the? Yeah, it's something to lead to because right now
39I'm busy doing a lot of stuff in my priority right now is I'm building a hospital in Haiti parents are born there and and I'm rebuilding great Children Hospital with World Vision and and H.R.P.A. So we've raised two out of four million so far So I got to finish this project first before I start like I can't quit them and right and go and run and stuff Because to me, it's just I feel so lucky to be alive today My parents moved to Montreal when I was 20 years old and I could have been there my mom's born right in power prime So this project has to be done before I could run and do anything else It was shortly after the earthquake you decided to join the Green Party did it have to do no no that was actually before that Well, I guess you were named to this. Yeah, yeah, yeah right after where I was then deputed because she knew that now I would have More time to do because it's it's time consuming, but it's important because it's an important message
27You know, I'm and a big believer in in animal rights and I talk a lot about the environment and climate change and the fact that you know For example meat industries impossible 20% global warming So the fact that the Green Party a lot of messages to talk about global warming to and stuff and a lot of different issues to me It was so important to to explain it to explain that to people to people in Canada So we can make a difference so we grow in a better environment like and around the world in Europe look at green technology How good is evolving if change countries and created jobs and better economy? It's not true that in Canada economy has to be based on the world and we have to give a Tax-based dollars to oil that Tarzan oiled industry that already makes billions of dollars a year and and and and are
14One of the most profitable companies in the world. So we really Our policy is so much different than and and the others and we talk about whether it's women's issues You know people that are homeless Afghanistan all those issues and not it never brought up in the debates and stuff and we bring all those up because Those are the real problem that we're having in Canada and stuff and that that's what different just do to other parties We don't spend our money that we raise in our campaign in the tech ads. What is that? If you're better than underparty, why do you need to bring them down? Show what you have show the Canadian people we could do to improve the situation in Canada Don't spend money on TV to tag the other people next to you and stuff That's not this is really how you want to spend your money and when I see stuff like that to me
02It's it makes no sense A lot in there that I want to touch on but I know we don't have much time one Talk about animal rights. How hard was it to be a vegan on the road in the NHL? Actually, I was lucky because the bus was vegan. Oh really go to you The bus is vegan you're gonna you'll be pretty lucky that half the menu will be vegan in a dressing room and a plane everywhere So I got all locked out and you live here, right? Yeah, I am does my own this is where I'm based on that make money off the oil Yeah, it does stimulate the economy here obviously terrible for the environment. Yeah. Well what I'd say to that is that You know when when we started decided to cut down smoking where people can smoke inside buildings and stuff Why did we do that like the tobacco economy was going get a hit right?
49A lot of people were making money going tobacco So if we cut down should we cut down a smoking or not because of the economy like every time you you change something in Economy people will will do some it'll change into something else. So it's not a reason that an economy It's actually killing the environment That's because some people make a living at it that we got to keep going this way because you know what? What a climate change changing tragedy that's going on in China and Haiti all over the world is gonna come to Haiti for Canada for not careful what we're doing to our environment and we're gonna deserve it and what we're gonna say that because of our economy or We we we didn't like that's it had to happen Like the time is now to prevent and it's better be prevent and be sorry and right now when the position were now
34We think and everything for granted we think that we're so lucky and everything is perfect here in Canada where I wear from everything But soon You know shit's gonna hit the fan so we have to react now and that's why people have to do something now Yeah, well we're best friend and I'm actually part of his foundation too We do some called five questions five foot questions one more answers, okay In the NHL do you want to fight right now? No one? No one I don't like fighting. I've actually never liked fighting so I did because it was my job But it was never inside of me. Yeah, I never liked it and I said at all my career It's never no one's price anyone people people used to say that was too nice actually Cubilee F-fuffler so that's that so to me. I was the compliment for soils too nice and I was fighting to me was perfect
20Did you know what kind of things where you would look at the guy say let's do this? No, no not even I just before every fight. I thought like I good luck and after asking if he's okay Always cuz I I wasn't even I never thought mad at just because it was a job and that's it right Well, I let in I guess Answer Yeah, yeah, no down to see what you said. I'll see the same thing In one word why should people vote? Because we're in a democratic country and other countries people would kill to have the right to vote and here We take everything from granted you want to make a change you need to vote 41% that's embarrassing and in one word
08One word George rock, I don't know. I'm not self-conceded, so I'll just say I am who I am
