0:00sitting here with the guys from the waking eyes what's going on? just pulled into Kitchener, Ontario yeah I'm tour with the collective soul right now has the tour going so far? oh it's pretty awesome getting to play for some nice big audiences to collective soul guys slightly older crowd that's what I've heard yeah they seem to be really appreciative they're liking your music are you selling your CDs really well to on the road? yeah we've sold out a few nights what we had left which wasn't last sounds cooler we only bring three with us for real to have 40 50 100 we don't sell you about 50 nights that's also good for us yeah it's been quite successful cool Gordy Johnson I heard work with you guys at some point no no we're going to be on tour with them
0:46and I believe that's a 40 day tour if we have the whole thing which we might not oh that's wonderful either way we have no idea what we're doing it's basically what we're selling just kind of go with whatever people tell you to do at this point no no we would never do that we just go where they tell us we don't do what they tell us that's cool same thing I guess are you guys liking the major label world? good it's good working with Warner is more like working with the large scale independent label yeah basically they're amazing label but they have the mentality of an indie label almost they have good taste music they're young and they
1:31like good music and they have fun and come to our shows and support us it's awesome and you can come to like a diner like this and get a milkshake which you can't afford on your own and then they'll pick up the tab after sweet yeah that's awesome they pick up a tag on your Winnebago? I know I believe the coverman picked up that tag you mean after it blew up yeah or before yeah we got insurance money for it which was pretty nice how did it happen? it's too much weed yeah we were smoking like 89,000 joints and one of them caught fire no I'm not sure something burned up for the old legend there's some smell it is a squeaky mess happening
2:16and then fire and then the steering went and we pulled into a way station and the carpet started on fire and then I was sleeping yeah just watch it burn out and you try and put it on Steve tried to find it out I didn't try to put it out with a little fire extinguisher that we had which I think probably just made it worse for some reason at any moment that could have been the end of Steve's life like we're all standing hundreds of feet away from this thing that's obviously the engine is on fire like big fire cars are stopping and like taking pictures like in it trying to use this little one liter fire extinguisher to put it out and it's just making it worse was that your gear in there too? our gear was in a trailer oh yeah
3:01and yeah that went unscathed so that was good sort of you guys turn in now? you guys got a van the plus? now we have a 1990 Chevy conversion van it's actually really sweet it's comfortable it's got a DVD player in the Xbox and surround sound and theater lighting it's pretty awesome it's pretty sweet cool let's play it soon anything off the record? what do you guys want to hear? headlights no well okay I'd say either headlights on a train or take in the hard way take in the hard way let's go take in the hard way that one racks certainly got us on the waking eyes
7:26Ryan told me to play some stag and dows or I guess you call them socials oh what do you guys do? and then a little strawberry? what do you mean like a horse? no no like a stag when you get married? yeah that's what your time was? stag and dows? no man it's what socials like any time of the year any reason whatsoever any excuse to like raise money for something there would be a social for like the new stop signing put up see the corner of these two streets everyone will go and eat pierogies and buy ten dollar tickets to get in and then have silent auction prizes in a boring like banquet hall with white walls and get very drunk and like start fights and dance to
8:11what's her face? name one name a girl Shakira Shakira the guys are very that's what we're saying you guys are over those kind of shows? if they're dancing to Shakira you guys well received? well yeah like obviously these ones we're doing on tour are a little different we just go into somebody's house and they've provided actually good food it's not well they're pierogies but they're deep fried and they're really good and some pizza and sandwiches and we just play like five acoustic songs full band? yeah all four of us play and do some harmonizing and so it's a little lighter than our actual show but it's an excuse to get on the radio and
8:58maybe sell two more CDs cool? is that where it's at at this point? your career? anything to sell CDs right now? just get your name out there? did I make it sound like our career is wonderful no I just I think we're just trying to win as many fans as possible and it just so happens with us we're doing it one at a time which is fine by me we get to play shows every day yeah it's growing slowly I think it definitely proves that like hard work and whatever can really pay off I don't know that sounds cheesy you know what I mean? like we're not the kind of band that's going to go no we're not playing to five people in somebody's house yeah yeah yeah I don't have the time right now no we have the time to do anything so cool
9:44you guys are from Manitoba? yes we have Big Music scene and we go we're here then Scott's who a whole bunch of great bands is it a big music scene over there? is it a music scene yeah I have to get noticed I don't know how easy it is for bands to get noticed but it seems like lately in the last few years Winnipeg definitely has been noticed for this music scene there's a lot of great bands out of there with the weaker thans and like you said and novelero and inward eyes and new up and coming band projectors, projector, paperbacks lots of good stuff yeah come together you guys won't play that live we have that why come together? we pick a new one every couple months yeah we just discussed yesterday that this is going to be the last last tour with come together we weren't playing it for six months or so
10:30maybe a little less we were playing on the walrus before that I think we're going to always go on to the new one what's that? always going to be a Beatles cover I think we always like to end up a Beatles cover we love the Beatles and we're not ashamed to say so and express that in our live show it's your favorite Beatles record I don't know I couldn't even list you a song listing on any Beatles records but I know all their songs but I don't know what records they're on that does more so than I do but you're illegally down with them all no no I'm not on my dad but you know what I mean? different issues always have different songs on the stuff of my dad's old records but yeah Beatles love them so we got a new a new Beatles song
11:15we're going to cover after this tour but it's going to be awesome I'm going to have to come see the show to see it good? I was a singer Steve I was a singer and saving that one all day alright let's pick another tune oh another tune? well if that's the case what do you want to go with this time? we can either two slow things down make people cry we can go a little if you know why let's go if you know why sounds good here it is making it across your back in my twists and it's slowly
12:05as we reach for the line is there screaming and softening now? we don't say the time
16:11Guys we do a thing I'll show you a couple of five questions every week five quick questions one we're answering favorite album of all time okay computer I'm going to go with love and war oh wow timeless timeless piece of work cool, I'm going to know McCartney I know Matt would go Lennon I'm going to go McCartney I'm going to also go with McCartney cool, alcohol and marijuana one or the other alcohol and marijuana alcohol during the day and into the evening marijuana at night when I'm in TV and not having to
16:56do anything look at people in the eye and look stupid the same way I feel it really is I like that song you've written you're most proud of I think maybe the new one we're playing it shows for myself that I can feel it song it's a song we play where we all harmonize that's definitely one that I'm most proud it sounds like Crosby's Soul's Nation exactly but it's a little better no it's not nevermind please proposition me that's a good song it's a cool title you've never heard it but I know it never will I sure it's not watching money Steve yeah watch that it's D-roll off
17:42yeah it is the beginning is cool too though too I like it's getting out there we play it on the station thanks that's Matt's song no and he doesn't count right now one word waking eyes one word waking eyes yeah it's first thing I've anything you're bad um ragamuffin dirty sexy guys ragamuffin yeah you just make up that one I've never heard that I just kind of went with those I believe my girlfriend calls me that or used to maybe I maybe I'm not one anymore you used to be a ragamuff no I believe that we fit into that category oh but I think you have to be cute but I think that's a matter of opinion
18:30lonely alright pickle more tune closes out one more tune closes out eh? you pick it Steve no I'm not I'm gonna say waiting no don't wait there's no way in hell we can um we might as well go with the newest single yes on the train
