00Yeah, of course. Sweet, so how was the show last night? It must be wicked to be back with the guys. Yeah, I spent... How so? Did you say that's the first time you played Brazil?
45Yeah. So that's so interesting, given the fact that there's only a handful of dates really on this last tour. Why Brazil? Just because you'd never been there? It must be nice for you to be playing guitar again.
31Do you miss it in gallows? Do you feel is it different for you as a performer without a guitar in your hands? What was it like? You must have done a rehearsal before the London shows, hey? Yeah.
22Two years isn't that long of a time. I mean, that's usually... Well, I don't know, maybe not for you guys, but the record cycle life. You get off the road, you take a break, you write your record, you get back on. But was it different getting back with the guys this time in that first rehearsal? Did everything just click like it was the night before? It's so interesting to be talking to you at this point in, I guess, Alexis's career.
16Because this doesn't happen where a band consciously says, this is it. Yeah, not usually not. No, so it must be really interesting for you guys and for the fans to be at these shows, being like, I wonder what songs are going to play. So how are you guys choosing a set list for this kind of thing? So what's a set like a three hour show? What are you playing here? It's like a two hour set. Pretty much cool.
20Like what? What would those songs be? And are there songs that you really want to hear? Are there songs that you're more excited to play? I mean, you haven't played these songs in a few years.
25So what about this, the death letter EP that just came out? It's basically just you and Dallas, isn't it, for at least from what I've heard from the acoustic tunes? Yeah, yeah. Are those going to sound a little, I mean, this is more of a fan question, I guess,
16but are they going to sound more acoustic or are they going to sound more like you burn first and burial, which are more kind of like, I don't know, there's more sounds going on at least on those two. Okay. And you mentioned songwriting there with Dao for years. It must, what does he bring to your songwriting that you can't, I guess, do on your own or maybe that you bring to his that maybe he can't do on his own? I don't know. I don't know.
38Have you found that to be the case in Dallas as well? Okay. Is there anything special planned for the last show?
32Like Hamilton's an interesting place to play the last show. Why Hamilton? Let's go with that actually. We have to, for people who can't make the shows, is there going to be a DVD release of the show?
17Is there going to be a DVD release as part of this box set or have you filmed any shows? But for those US fans who have been complaining, they'll find something to eventually hear. Well, yeah, I guess, that's fine. What I want to ask you before we go, oh, who made the call? So how did this, I guess I'll throw that into the article. Who made the, how did this all come about? Yeah, like was there, was there a call? Did you call someone? Did George call someone and say, let's do this? I can talk about it.
41And it's funny, you're saying all this stuff.
31It sounds like that's almost like a, like a reunion for the band. You're getting all this stuff, there's all this positive energy coming from around the world saying, we got to do this together and you choose to do farewell shows as opposed to being like, let's get back together. Now, is that something because everyone's off doing their own thing? I mean, you're busy, Dao's busy, everyone's busy. But, absolutely.
23Well, I'm just thinking, you know, you guys are playing together every night. Someone's got to be like, well, I wonder if maybe we should do more, but it doesn't matter. You're busy, you got the, let's get some, let's plug the black lungs thing too. What's going on with that record? See, because I read online that you were working on a record though. Yeah, fair enough.
27Before I let you go, five quick questions, one word answers. Okay. Roder Studio, Leninger McCartney. When you hear a song, what usually hits you first, lyrics, melody or rhythm. Lyrics. Song you've written you're most proud of. And in one word, Alexa's on fire.
