0:0095 7 the sound I'm Matt. We got a special guest on the phone about to call here. Kyle Chip Chura you might know his name from Captaining the world junior hockey championships back in 2006 winning a gold medal for our country. He was drafted in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens about six years ago recently getting traded to the Anaheim Ducks. He was born in West Lock Alberta just a couple minutes north of here and he's returning home for a homecoming game tomorrow night against the Oilers. Oh here he is on the phone Kyle Chip Chura. Hey Kyle how are you? Good. How are you doing? Well how was practice? That was very good. So I'm wondering you know growing up what 45 minutes north of here? Yeah. Were you an Oilers fan as a kid? Yeah. How's a huge weather fan? Our whole family. We definitely grew up with our fans and Eric from as a kid I remember

0:48Noether Jersey's watching all the games we could and going to as many games as good as well. Definitely a other fan. So is this like a homecoming kind of game for you? Yeah definitely. This is definitely my homecoming. I always have a lot of family and friends in the stands and it's always nice to come back. Is it weird to play against the team that you used to root for as a kid? I think I'm over it. Yeah. Yeah. As soon as I got drafted and been involved I was with Montreal in the organization. You kind of stopped kind of I guess rooting for him. It's not as much but it's definitely special in my man. It's definitely different. What is it you mentioned playing Montreal? What is the feeling of being traded? I wonder you know is it like is it like a breakup is there a

1:36sense of excitement or betrayal or? I mean I felt excited. I mean things weren't we're going the best personally and I felt like I was just first started not the way I treated it as and I mean I have no harsh feelings towards them at all and I look at it as kind of like a new beginning and so far it's worth a while. Well you're living in sunny California in the winters it must be you know a little different to me in the States. Yeah the the winters are a lot easier. I mean I talk to my family back home and I hear about what they're going through in some days and yeah it's definitely make this adjustment. Well it's the first week of December now so so I assume you shaved your your moverstache. Yeah I just got rid of it yesterday. Sad because I got rid of mine

2:23it was a little sad I wanted to keep it a little bit but also at the same time it was kind of annoying. Yeah exactly I go in the little top I just went with it. All right just went with and shaved it off. I can came in pretty thick but there's a little little side. There's a lot of buzz here about you know Hall and Everly and all the young players we have in Edmonton. Are there players that you're excited to play against or the guys that you you can't wait for the game and things like that. Maybe not Hall or Everly but on other teams or anything like that. Yeah I think I mean whatever I think you can go on to your first couple games I remember in a personal league against guys who've kind of looked up to as a kid and Nick Lindstrom or I mean coming to here and play with Timo Flanity kind of as an idolized that was always that pretty

3:08special and now it seems with the kind of like we changed with the Guardian's past few years with like all the new kind of young guns coming in through I think whenever Crosby or a Vatican games coming up it always seems like a little more excitement for games like that. That brings me to five questions because I want to hold on the Crosby of Vatican thing. Five quick questions one more dancers. Okay it's time to put another celebrity on the hot seat. Here's Matt Schichter with five questions on 95 7th of the sound. Today's guest brought home gold in the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championships played on my Montreal Canadiens for a long time he is now currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks who are in town tomorrow against the Oilers. This is five questions with Kyle Chippchura. Gretzky or or how? Gretzky. Leonard McCartney. Not Lennon. Crosby or O'Betchkin. Crosby. Are you more proud of being drafted in the

3:57first round or winning a World Junior gold? We're in the World Junior. In one word Kyle Chippchura. Cool. Fun I guess. That was five questions on 95 7th sound. Listen week nine to five 15 when Matt.
