10She sits in her corner Singing herself too sweet Grapting all of the promises That no one seems to keep She no longer cries to herself No tears left to wash away Just iris of empty pages Feelings gonna strain But she will sing To everything first
57Will everyone scream Burning their lives Burning in all of this pain And all of this pain Was my Jesus' name
03And so far he probably sick of it
41Good man, bring it It kept fucking up my writer With me ham I just wasn't happy, we weren't getting along And I just felt it would be better If I left it to Amy to deal with Because we just weren't really on the same page anymore As far as creatively and as friends We were just going different directions With people and we needed time to be on our own and regroup Cool? You happy with your decision so far? Couldn't be happier Good, you think the next Evanescence record I think it sounds like without you there writing the stuff And basically being the driving force behind the band You think it will still have the same kind of sound? I have no idea I really don't, I have no idea what it will sound like
27But you know, I mean She's an immensely talented person And a great singer, a great writer And I have no doubt that she'll carry on just fine Oh good, that's nice to hear You've written with Amy like we were talking about You've also written for Avril, Kelly, Clarkson Now you've got Anastasia working with you Do you feel a need to write for a female voice? Is it easier to write for you that way? Honestly, it's just kind of, yeah, it's habitual And you know, I mean, that's the only thing I did for eight years So I think that just kind of, of course that was a lot of the phone calls I was getting It was women who wanted to be heavier or be a little edgier And that figured I was the guy, so I felt like I really looked for that, it just sort of happened Working with Avril Levine up in Canada, were you up in Canada writing
12Or did she come out to LA and do it with you? How did that work? Yeah, we hooked up out in LA We hung out at the Blanche Hotel for a couple of weeks And we wrote like, I think three songs together School, how does it work for you guys? Like, you just sit there with an acoustic guitar And just start writing with each other and words just kind of flow out? Yeah, pretty much, I mean, we got a structure together and we go in the studio The next day and record it Is that the same way it works with Kelly Clarkson? Or is she more of just... Well Kelly, that actually started off with her just singing into a tape recorder And she was feeling it to me It was really funny, I mean, she just had these lyrical ideas and melody ideas And she would send to me and David Hodges and I would make songs that up You still hanging out with David Hodges at all? Yeah, yeah, I see him all the time
58He and I worked together quite a bit, was he working on your new record? Yeah, he's written a few things for that with me He's singing on everything burned, he's the other male voice in that Oh cool, any other female showing up on the new album? Or is it gonna be a use thing and how is it gonna work? Yeah, I'm singing pretty much the whole record with me and my... I have another vocalist and a band named Jason Miller And I'm handling about 70% of the singing duties he's doing the rest But I think, yeah, no more females on the record I think we'll just stick to the guys for now Cool, is it gonna be a harder record, more like drowning pool, something like that? Well not quite that heavy, it's just a different kind of heavy I mean, it's much more organic, much more of a rock record lift Electronic and orchestral Is that where you're at musically right now, you think?
43For myself, yeah, I mean, I'm doing a number of different things for different pop artists and stuff like that But for me, it's just the way it's coming out because we're writing very organically myself, I do so a lot by myself, but when the band comes together it's just, well sit down with just acoustic guitars and write, you know, the way a band Well the way a band's used to do it, so it's a whole new process for me You ever think about putting out a acoustic record? Actually, yeah, it's funny, yes, that I originally I was going to do like two movements on the record, it's still kind of turning out that way like half of it's kind of acoustic and vibing, the other half is extremely heavy Cool, when can we expect that out in stores? Well we're shooting for this fall Oh really? Yeah, because I definitely want to get it out this year First single, Everything Burns, Fantastic Four, you're a big fan of Fantastic Four
30At all, it's kind of like, we just saw for the movie, how's it out? Well yeah, I'm not extremely familiar with the movie, but it's fantastic No, but it's fantastic, it looks fabulous Cool, you're also working on a zombie movie right now? Actually no, that's an internet rumor that's the email address I had I got screwed Yeah, it's not, I'm doing several movies, but none of them are zombie How do you feel about Delany music, do you think it's helped your harm you more? I think it helps you, I think you realize that that is a valid medium now and that they are going to have to find ways to regulate it and make it available legally, then yeah, it definitely helps
17because people are going to download it, whether you do this thing on the show, we call it five questions five quick questions, one word answers iPod or CDs? iPod Landon or McCartney? Ooh, McCartney Alcohol or marijuana? Alcohol Song you've written the year most proud of? Oh gosh, that's whole thing, it's very cool And one word, Ben Moody, appreciate it My hope is so nice
